Near Pamplona

I've just spent the last 13 hours on a train from Santiago de Compostela to Barcelona. In many ways it has been a more exhausting experience than walking 200km in 10 days!

I wanted to take this train ride because it goes through almost all of the landscape of the Camino Frances and I wanted to see the parts of Spain that I didn't get to walk. I wasn't disappointed. The terrain and light are marvelous.

One feature that was constant throughout was the wind turbine. I suppose the country whose greatest literary creation is best remembered for tilting at windmills must have an affinity for this form of energy production.

Tomorrow morning we get on a plane to fly home. The Camino experience will stay with me a long time.
