South Uist

Anchorage: Loch Eynort, South Uist

We woke to a glorious morning on the Isle of Rum, the rain had cleared and blue skies greeted us.

After another brief training session we set sail for South Uist. A number of harbour porpoises were sighted shortly after we left but the main excitement came when it was my turn on the mast and a spotted an unidentified 'fin'. This turned out to be a smalland stealthy minke whale :D We had another very brief encounter with a minke further along the passage to Uist. Two small groups of common dolphins also kept us company and the rain began to fall again.

We arrived in Loch Eynort and some set to work on dinner. Edd set to work trying to catch dinner, and I went ashore. This shot was taken as the weather cleared, treating us to a gorgeous view of a wonderfully remote area before a fantastic sunset saw us safely off to bed.

Bring on day 3!

Please feel free to check out yesterdays backblip :)
