Bed-head Plantain
This is my new name for Hoary Plantain. I love the messy inflorescence of this plantain once all the flowers have developed. It's actually quite an impressive flower in chalk grassland at this time of the year, compared with the less exuberant Ribwort Plantain. This duller one is, however, the preferred food plant for some of our special butterflies and moths.
