Chalk and flint
After leaving East Kent I headed clockwise round London, which had the double advantage of avoiding the Dratford crossing and allowing me to meet up with my brother for lunch. Two cousins plus their daughter also joined us and we had a lovely family reunion. Then it was onwards to...Milton Keynes.
Our lunch was at a vineyard/winery just beside Box Hill. I bought a bottle of one of their whites, called Flint Valley. I realised as I was driving away that the white bones of the chalk hill were clearly visible above the vines.
