Ramblings from Zambia....

Mr Leopard sitting pretty....

This morning there was a biting wind and it was cool but sunny!  Unfortunately yesterday I got some dust in my eye and it is really red and swollen today and I am aware that I have to drive the 5 hours back on the dusty road to Mzuzu.  The guys at the camp gave me eye drops but it didn't really make any difference so I had to face the drive with a swollen eye which was painful and had water running out of it.  (and did I mention that I can only see with one eye, and yes its the good eye that is affected!!).
There were 3 medical students who also needed a lift to Mzuzu so I brought them with me and we set off!

We had not gone too far when my friend told me to stop - she thought she saw a leopard!  I reversed and sure enough a leopard was sitting not too far from the car - he seemed to be calling out to a mate.  I was fortunate to get a photo as I had to fumble to find my camera (being the driver and with a bad eye!)  However, the students were so excited - it was lovely to see them as it was there first time to see a real live leopard!

Thankfully we arrived safely in Mzuzu and I got some more eye drops - heading to the doctor tomorrow!
