Heron.....

Traveled with a friend to Nyika national park today for the weekend.  Its a 5 hour drive on a 'challenging' dirt road and I was very thankful to arrive mid afternoon!  Nyika is higher than Mzuzu at 7000ft above sea level and so is a few degrees cooler but beautiful!  Its a large park with roaming hills and lots of bird life and other mammals like Zebra and antelope!

Just in front of the camp is a small lake and this large heron was waiting for us with a few Reedbuck running around too!
