Training health workers in the developing world
IMPACT trains local health workers as a sustainable solution to the critical shortage of medical personnel in the developing world.
For example, local Traditional Midwives are trained in safe techniques for delivery, equipped with sterile equipment and the skills to care for women and their babies before, during and after birth. These are skills which will safeguard the lives of women and their babies long after the boat has moved on.
This photo was taken in Bangladesh, where 44 health workers have just completed their week long training course.
