Cows over the hill

If we are going to Golden Bay we often say " we are going over the hill"- the Takaka Hill. Known for the number of corners you go round - one for every day of the year and more.
It's another world over the hill- dairy farms as far as the eye can see, sweeping bays and today a blue sky and calm sea.
Lots of alternative life stylers, artisans, organic food and lovely cafes and restaurants - all very laid back.
Trev and I spent the day there just for a day out. Dined on salmon chowder and blue cod fish and chips. I feel like a new person.
The main photo is of a few of the cows near the road. We are heading for those hills in the distance to take us home.The extras are taken of Pohara Beach, and the limestone that has been mined for cement over the years and shipped all over the country to be turned into concrete.
