The beach

Today was our first full day on the bus. Sometimes it's odd the first night in a new bed but we all slept really well and rose late. The Minx made excellent coffee using the moka pot in conjunction with her new milk frothing device and then we took turns using the shower facilities, which were not bad at all.

We'd invited my folks over for the day, today, and they arrived in time for lunch. We drove down to meet them at the nearby farmshop rather than trying to explain to them how to find the bus, which is tucked well away. Once we got back, we lit the barbecue and had a couple of drinks while it heated up and settled into a cooking ready state.

It was a very pleasant, relaxed afternoon, as we cooked, chatted and ate, and then my folks went for a bit of an explore around the ajoining fields, discovering a tipi full of sofas in the process. They left in the early evening, so we decided to head down to Bournemouth, where we bought Dan and the miniMinx fish and chips from Harry Ramsden's and then we went up onto the pier to eat them.

After that, Dan and the miniMinx were keen to go down to the beach and paddle, so we let them go, taking this picture of them from the pier. This was while they were still being cautious: it wasn't that long before they were soaked to their waists!
