Its all happening ....

at the end of our Close as about 4.15 pm we heard a huge explosion then crackling followed by a flash! Lots of birds took flight and at first I thought it was a gun going off. It seems the pylon in the photo had short circuited and very quickly the fire engine arrived closely followed by Bracken  (not at all phased by the loud noise) and Mr OE. Other dog walkers were out on the riverside walking at the time it happened so I suspect some of the dogs would have been very frightened as I don't think I have ever heard quite such a loud noise. A very kind lady in the end house took a tray of tea out to the Fireman who were and still are waiting for the Electricity Board to arrive - typical take your time no rush!
