Santtu-Matias Rouvali and Philharmonic Orchestra
Santtu-Matias Rouvali and Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra had a free park concert in the Sorsapuisto park in the evening. The weather was perfect and there were hundreds or thousands of people in the park. Me, Emma and Sami also had a picnic there.
The Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, comprising 97 musicians, is one of Scandinavia's foremost symphony orchestras. Its Artistic Director as of autumn 2013 has been Santtu-Matias Rouvali.
The TPO has its home in Tampere Hall, the biggest concert hall in Finland built 1990. The orchestra offers a symphony and a chamber music series, performs as resident opera and ballet orchestra and plays regularly at the Tampere Biennale contemporary music festival.
The Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra's history dates from the year 1930. Since 1947 it has been maintained by the City of Tampere.
In the morning me and Emma were shopping, 10 kg srawberries among other things. Meanwhile we got Leevi home with 2 mm long hairs.
Emma went to the movie with Sanni to see Paper Towns. Emma said she liked it a lot.
Later in the evening Leevi picked up hubby from the railwaystation. Their team did well, they arrived to Tallinn at 01:30 and were 11th out of 38 boats. It their time would have been 4 minutes better they would have taken the 5th position.
+20°C, sunny
