Green Bottle Fly

There was a real buzz in the air today. It's amazing what a little bit of dry sunny weather will do for the insect life. I did spy a few bedraggled bees, after yesterday's rain, but most were out as usual collecting nectar this morning.

And if they weren't buzzing around, the insects were just soaking up the warmth from the sun just as this fly was.

I met a friend for a talk on sensory plants around the garden, done by one of the team from the garden centre at Trentham Gardens.
