Danger - men at work!
Simon and Helen are here for the weekend so, despite the inclement weather, we have been working in the garden. Helen has been wielding the electric strimmer and doing the lawn edges; I have been cutting the lawn and Simon has been using the big boy's toy to cut the grass between me and the field. Now I can see across the field again Yay!
Simon has also fixed the faulty webcam (now that the blue tits have gone) ready for next year! The other webcam is still out of focus but we can still see the 2nd sparrow brood - 5 healthy if noisy little youngsters enjoying the attentions of their 2 mums.
We're going out now to see if the barn owl is out and about in this weather. She has 4 owlets in the box, all ringed on 10 June by the Shropshire barn owl group. They are about 46 days old so the first owlet has approx 10 days left in the nest. Mum has a ring on and SBOG think she is one they ringed last year from the 2nd box on the site. That's nice isn't it?
