Women of World War II statue, London

One of the most moving  &  illuminating  monuments in  London, is, for me,  this one in Whitehall.

A few yards north of the Cenotaph, it marks the discrete  &  versatile contribution of women during  World War  II.

Erected in the late  1990s, it marks the heroic, understated  &  dignified effort of women, and would be enough to bring out the male feminist in anyone, as the first time people noticed women had been invented.
