Strathaven Park

Donkeys years ago I lived in Hamilton and one of my favourite trips was up the hill to Strathaven (Str'aven) and a visit to the park. While there were all the usual park attractions, two in particular were favourites of the young JohnD. The boating pond and the miniature railway. So I really jumped at the chance today to go along with Fiona and Lyall who were going to introduce little James to the park life. We met up with Phil, Ali, Euan & Eve and everyone had a ball! Climbing frames got claimed, swings got swung, chutes got well slid on and Phil even got Ali into one of the wee pedalos! After a break for a picnic lunch, the trains were running so we all trooped down to the tracks and took over a whole train! Great fun and great memories.
