Easedale Tarn

Easedale Tarn lies in a glacial corrie situated high in the upper valley of Easedale. A popular walk from Grasmere...In Victorian times there was a refreshment hut here, but now there is just a pile of stones...

The tarn's outlet is Sour Milk Gill, which tumbles down towards Grasmere with some lovely waterfalls just beside the path.

We returned via Far Easedale, and enjoyed a well earned pot of tea and chocolate & orange cake at the Llancrigg Hotel...
