Off to Northumberland

My sister is celebrating a big  birthday by inviting her family to share a week with her in Northumbria. She also invited her sisters and husbands.

This morning is G's birthday so we went round to visit him and wish him Happy Birthday.  We left for the south around lunchtime, and had a lovely run down heading to Dunbar and down the A1 to Belford.  The house is between Berwick upon Tweed and Alnwick, and we were first to arrive, the others having to travel from Essex, a much longer distance. 

We are delighted with the house, spotlessly clean and a beautiful decor in all the rooms.  We arrived around 3.30pm, and the HG was pleased to chill out on the deck for a bit.  We were closely followed by my niece and her partner, and then in another couple of hours by my sisters and one husband.  My nephew, partner and the two boys were the last to arrive. 

We had a lovely meal and of course everyone was talking at once.  The weather is idyllic and I do hope it lasts.  More to come.......
