Heading home across the Minch
We travelled home to Edinburgh from the Isle of Lewis today. My blip is from the window of the observation lounge of the new ferry from Stornoway to Ullapool.
One advantage of travelling by bike is that cyclists are usually first onto the ferry. This means that we can usually secure the best seats in the house for the crossing.
We played two more games of Scrabble on the boat. The final score for this holiday series is 7 all (although it is worth noting that if you add up all the individual scores for each game, I come out on top).
The ferry crossing was the best part of the journey. I didn't really enjoy the 3 hour cycle ride from Uig Sands to Stornoway, especially the two long sections when we were battling a head wind.
Exercise today: 3 hours of tandem riding.
