French Coast
We were on the 10:00 boat to Dunkirk thankfully; travelling to Calais seemed more fraught. Why is it that the longer crossing to France is cheaper than the shorter one? The northern French coast can hardly be described as the prettiest, with chemical works, nuclear power stations and docks mixed up with sandy beaches. However, It does give interesting views as the ferry comes into the port. We set off for Germany via Belgium, but sadly the Belgian motorways are an extension of the M25 and it took ages to get anywhere. We did however, stop in a free campervan site near to Germany, so all was good in the end
