People's Liberation Army

In my new role as conference organiser, last night I got an invite to the Tattoo. Not really my scene, but hard to turn down free dinner and ticket.

There were some great acts, especially the Swiss drummers. Here, though, are the most bizarre participants.... the Chinese army playing western military style without any hint of irony. Later, the producer (Brigadier David Allfrey) claimed it was "proof" of some new relationship between East and West. Sadly, I think he is mistaken.
