Not Porty Peope and Places

When we used to live here the winters were amazingly cold - 30 on occasions! When it got below -15 for more than three consecutive nights schools had to close.  The bus companies would bring out furnaces of red hot coals and place them at every bus stop to keep the waiting passengers from freezing to the spot.

Today with the temperatures in excess of 32 degrees the authorities open up the water mains and create these ad hoc fountains to cool everyone down!

Great to be back here and to enjoy a wonderful supper in the open air in the old town this evening at one of our favourite restaurants!
