Hogwarts and I

As Kit and I have fast approaching birthdays a mere fortnight apart my ex decided to treat us to a visit to the Warner Bros. tour of their Harry Potter sets etc at their Leavesdon Studios. Hugely enjoyable and none of it more so than the huge "miniature" of Hogwarts itself occupying an entire soundstage. All those sweeping exterior shots of the place, the fights with Hungarian Horntails, the climactic Battle of Hogwarts itself were filmed using this miniature. It's an extraordinary sight, even more so under the studio illumination tracing the shadows and colours of day, sunset, night and dawn across its surfaces.
