Standen, East Sussex
Visited this lovely Arts and Crafts house in East Sussex today, courtesy of the National Trust who have done an amazing job restoring and keeping it in good condition. Loved it. This shot shows the large conservatory, and the little tower to the left is The Little Room. Helen, the 7 year old daughter of the Beales, for whom the house was being built, asked the architect if he would make her a room of her own. He built on this little room with its outside staircase being the only access, very private. Helen paid him the princessly sum of sixpence for the room.
The review of the scans is finally in, and less bad news than it might have seemed from some opinions. I don't have to do anything, unless I feel ill, till the next scan at the end of September. Not out of the woods, but no longer in the thick of it either. It's been a terrible time of uncertainty, numerous tests and consultations Hoping I can have a few weeks of relative normal living now.
