River Esk

A short ride today. I had planned a longer ride, perhaps involving a train or two, but the hedge had to be cut, the dishwasher repair man was coming to fix the catch on the dishwasher, and my partner got a puncture yesterday on the way in to work.

The first two things were fairly easy to deal with. Just as I had finished cutting the hedge, the repair man appeared. That left Twin 2 to clear up the mess in the front garden. The repair man didn't take too long, a new catch and he reinstated the plastic used for the lights on the front panel, removed by the previous repair man.

After an early lunch, I headed down to my partner's work to replace the tube, and fix the small puncture caused by a small piece of glass. As the weather was going to clear up, I cycled down. She had her lunch and made sure the security guards knew I was there fixing hew bike, not taking someone else's.

After that, there was time for a quick wee jaunt. I headed down to Musselburgh, where I too a picture of Fisherrow Harbour and this one from the footbridge that crosses the River Esk. The tide was high, and the swans have loads of space. A lot of blue sky and it feels very warm.

I headed inland, through Walleyford, then Crossgatehall towards Fordel Mains, Loads of those wee thunderbugs around that make you feel itchy. I have to wipe down my arms and legs too get rid of them.

halfway-ish point so I go to Dalkeith along the old A68. It doesn't take long to get home from here as I head to Eskbank and Gilmerton, Home in time for coffee.
