Raku bowl

I have always been interested in ceramics and in particular I love raku pottery. Local potter Alice MacFarlane uses the Japanese method in a lot of her work, usually huge pots, but I have collected several of her smaller raku pots and bowls. This is one of them. I love the bluey green of the glaze!

Gathering dust in the bowl are lots of pebbles, stones and marbles - each one of them a reminder of a special place, time or person. They get a bath once a year at Christmas when I use the bowl to hold a cinnamony potpourri.
