Urunga
For fifteen years we have made the trek to Bundaberg to visit CCN's Mum and Dad. Every time we drive through Urunga we have to drop down to 50kmh for about 4 kilometres and it drives us nuts. We also had a terrible lunch at the little cafe on the river once and so we haven't had the best impression of the town. The Manager at the caravan park in Ballina suggested that we stay at the park in Urunga tonight. He basically told us that it was the Jewel in the Crown of the North Coast Holiday Park locations.
All I can say is that we think today we have found a piece of heaven. When we drove into the park late this afternoon we couldn't believe our eyes. We are parked right on the river front with the most incredible outlook. There are pelicans galore and birdlife everywhere. There must be dozens of little places like Urunga that we keep passing by without blinking an eye. More fool us - we are going to start being more adventurous from now on. So watch this space. My blip today sums up how we feel in this glorious little village.
