Endless Eggs
When you're making omelets for 50 people, you need a lot of eggs. The omelet (served with rice, of course) is one of the most basic Thai foods. Egg is mixed with seasonings such as fish sauce, oyster sauce, salt and a dash of sugar then sometimes chopped pork, veggies, and/or tofu. They are cooked on both sides in a wok, flat like a pancake.
Even people who "can't cook," can cook an omelet because everyone watched Mom make them while growing up. The omelet may not turn out as beautiful as those with more practice, but it will still be eatable. I'd compare it to being able to make a box of Macaroni and Cheese for us who grew up eating that.
