Definitely Visible

Old enough

I used to take J to some of the children's shows at the Edinburgh Festival every year then he became too old for them but too young for, or too uninterested in, anything else. Now he's old, and interested, enough to choose what he would like to see. This was the year of the comics - Alan Davies and Ed Byrne. And by some miracle these two were on in the same venue on the same night with a half hour gap between each show. Excellent.

Found out a couple of weeks ago that the Gallery of Modern Art was currently playing host to an exhibition of the works of M.C. Escher, so we came through mid-afternoon to go to that first.

I wasn't sure what I was going to try and capture for today's photo but it turned out that we weren't allowed to take photos inside the exhibition so I had resigned myself to taking one of Alan or Ed (first name terms like we are buddies!) to represent our day. I lay down on the grass outside the Gallery for 20minutes or so after we came out, to rest my back before moving on to Part Two of the trip. Then we walked to the bus stop to get back into town. Had missed a bus by ten minutes, 50min wait till the next one. Decided we would walk to the city centre instead, so about turned and .... saw this poster! That was definitely going to be the blip for today and without him realising I was doing it, I got J in when he was trying to take a photo too. I just thought it captured the day well - some rare quality time spent with my boy.
