Curve

A curving line leads,
By illusion or skilled hand,
Giving grey lead life.

Met with Miranda1008 today to go and see the Ravilious exhibition at the Dulwich Picture Gallery.  I've seen some of his work before, but never en masse, also had never been to this gallery before, so it was joy all round.

A wonderful exhibition which has proved to be very popular, so we had to queue for a while, but it was well worth it.

I love the deceptive simplicity of his style, masking masterly technical ability.  A lot of the sussex scenes were of places very familiar to me.  I love the way he composes his pictures,  and the way his use of curves draw you in and give life to inanimate shapes, particularly to the trees.

After the exhibition we went and had a very nice lunch and chatted and chatted, then it was time to part.  But not until plans were hatched for our next trip.....!

At London Bridge station about to get on the train home, I noticed this curve in the platform lights .... although not a Ravlious type scene it made me think of him so had to be blipped.

A couple more station blips in the extras...
