Messing about on the river

We've entered a good new phase of the summer holidays. A low-key, low excitement, low cost, low demand phase. Time to see friends, go to the park, have picnics, clean the house and relax.

After Harry and Eloise left post-sleepovers, Tom, Sal and I went to Battersea Dogs Home (just looking) and Battersea Park. A picnic, a pedalo and a play in the Adventure Playground.

At the boating lake we met a heron with a personality disorder. He was begging for bread like a duck or pigeon. It was very odd. I've never seen a heron so unfazed by humans. He also posed very nicely for me in front of a moorhen's nest.

Home for homemade pesto and Doritos Chili roulette. The craze of the week.
