By ferry to Vestmannaeyjar
We didn't wake up until almost 11:00 this morning - it was so nice and quiet at my brother Jóhann's place. I definitely needed those extra hours of sleep.
After I'd burned the toast, made a mess of the french press (delicious coffee though...) and had a spoonful of the most awful, rancid lýsi I've ever tasted, we spent a couple of hours in Kringlan (shopping mall).
Then it was time to begin the 1.5 hour journey to Landeyjahöfn before boarding the ferry to Vestmannaeyjar. We stopped for coffee and some shopping in Selfoss and had a look around Hella and Hvolsvöllur. We also took a quick look at a summer house we are going to be staying in at the end of August in Ketlubyggð.
The crossing took half an hour and there was an awful storm, or 24 metres per second. So much fun to photograph the sea and the clouds while trying not to get the camera sprayed with salty sea-water :o)
