Walking back
I had this notion that I would mow the sheep field as the grass is long and weedy but there is good green stuff underneath it....the relentless Texas sun was beating down on me, and the hot southerly wind was blowing dust and prickly stuff all over me, but I was doing quite well...and then.... I ran out of gas :0(
It felt like a loooong walk back up the hill to the house ... and about the time I reached the top of the field a spam caller chose to call and announce in almost unintelligible English that I had won a million dollars - he received the kind of reply one might expect from someone who is hot, tired, frustrated and covered in bugs and bits of dry, itchy, prickly weed grass .... perhaps he won't call again :0)
I was too hot to go and get more gas so I left it sitting out there. Turned out there were several gallons sitting in the barn though, so I could have filled it up and gone back to my destruction of the weeds...oh well, I'd probably have ended up getting a sunburn anyway. Mr Tex filled it up later and drove it back to the barn for me.
