Sunset
We went back into Zadar today.
Therry fancied visiting one of the nearby islands.
We easily found the ticket office and bought tickets over to Preko, the nearest island.
Public transport is very efficient over here. There are regular busses and it costs about £2 to go to Zadar.
The ferry to/from Preko runs every hour and costs about £8 return.
We wandered around the small town where the ferry docks. Found a nice bench to sit on near a marina and ate our picnic.
We returned to Zadar and Therry swam in the sea by the Sea Organ.
This is a series of holes in the sea wall which have air forced through them by the waves. The air makes a noise a little like a church organ.
We then headed into town to get coffee and some pizza.
After that we returned to the Sea Organ to watch the "Memory of the Sun"
"Memory of the Sun" is a series of solar panels that store energy during the day. At sunset the energy stored is used to light up the panels. the colours and rate of lights is controlled by the Sea Organ.
It is a very popular thing to watch/listen to and was very busy.
The sunset was superb as you can see.
The lights of the "Memory" were interesting but we had to leave before it got really dark, when the effect is greatest.
