Great Grandma's

We've had a busy day today. Up and out early for the long drive to visit my Grandma's, P&A's Great Grandma's.

My mum and dad came along too and we started off with a visit to Grandma Q's residential home. It was a lovely place. Really quiet and relaxing. We had the communal area all to ourselves and the children could get out into the garden for a run around. We ate lots of biscuits and drank lots of tea. The kiddies both received a book each which they were very pleased with. Especially A, as his was a noisy farm book!

We then took Grandma Q out for lunch at a local pub. The kiddies were really well behaved and P finished all her plate of food. Both enjoyed the jelly and ice cream for pudding!

After lunch we then all went to to Grandma T's house. Again the children played in the garden and the grown ups drank more tea! My cousin and his little boy also popped over so we had quite a house full.

It was so nice to see my Grandmas, it's been far too long since we last saw them. They are both such an inspiration to me. Both in their late 80's, but both fiercely independent, strong and intelligent women. I just hope that one day I can be just like them.
