SCARBROUGH
In the city centre with one of the finest (and it's being going for the better part of 200 years), the Scarbrough Hotel on Bishopgate Street.
There are many fine pubs in Leeds city centre, but the number seems to decrease as the years pass. The Whip and the City of Mabgate are now just memories, victims to the rise of the trendy bar that's gone again a year after it opened.
The Scarbrough [ spelled correctly and nothing to do with the coastal town] is a city centre real ale pub with a long history in variety theatre, hence the sign.
We met our friends here before a lovely Thai meal at www.chaophraya.co.uk.
Excellent!
