Mother's pearl

“He was a bold man that first ate an oyster.”

― Jonathan Swift
My mother is quite the waterman, being 87 yrs. old now and raised on a waterfront farm. On March 11 2015 my blip was her shucking oysters she had caught and some I caught for her. She had this necklace made for me with a pearl she found in an oyster caught and shucked by her own hand. Not many oysters in our bay grow pearls and the ones that do grow are usually very small and fragile. A rare find for sure. It is quite beautiful although I could not master getting the pearl to show it's beautiful colors the way I would have liked. What a treasure.
May qualify for tiny Tuesday.
