Juvenile Bald Eagle
We've been seeing him (her?) flying past several times over the last few weeks. I suppose the setnetters and the hope that they'd overlook a fish is a nice incentive for him to stick around the beach areas. With yesterday's wind, all the gulls and this guy were riding the air about 12 feet above the edge of the bluff. This guy launched from the top of a tall spruce and then just rode the wind for as far as I could see him down the beach with nary a flap of his wings - some impressive gliding distance.
