Geranium

I didn't have much time to take photos today and wasn't happy with any of them, so I picked this one and did a quick watercolour effect on it.
The Garlic Festival was fantastic!   The focus of the festival was "...to create awareness of organic agricultural initiatives and school music programs.  It will create student bursaries from the proceeds."  The music was outstanding; the food selection was great; the venue in a huge hayfield was perfect; the weather was sunny and hot with a few clouds to cool things down now and then - such a lovely way to spend a Sunday.   Best of all - there was very little litter as the crowd was leaving, and high school students had volunteered to clean up, but their job would have been pretty easy.
The evening ended with Chilliwack (Bill Henderson's band), many of the other performers from the two days,  Elizabeth May (the leader of the Green Party and MP for Saanich/Gulf Islands), and the audience singing a rousing version of Take Back This Land.   Much fist pumping and clapping during and after the song.  I enjoy singing but rarely do in public - but I belted this out with much enthusiasm.  I'm hoping that there's a change in the wind....  Elizabeth May didn't give a political speech, just emphasized how important it is to vote.  She's so right.
The extra is of the sign for the evacuation route.  Everything was in place to evacuate everyone if a fire had started, testament to the drought conditions that are still so worrisome.
I took far too many photos and will post some of flickr when I get a chance to go through them.
Will catch up on journals soon too.
