It’s Not Unusual

Friday night is party night!! After the hectic week it was lovely for us to escape to Newmarket with my sister and her hubby for some evening racing and the lovely Tom Jones.

On an unusual British summers evening (hot & sweltery!!) we enjoyed the racing and unusually I managed to pick a couple of 3rd place horses – Sky Ferry (aviation connection!) & Chapter & Verse - see extra photo (I like the fine detail!!) which meant I finished the evening being just £5 down.

Another source of entertainment was the people watching … and what a vast array of subjects there were to pick from!! From posh frocks and fascinators; to denim shorts and cut-offs; through to horsey-boots and short skirts … the whole spectrum of the human race were there to enjoy the evening.

Top of the bill was Tom Jones who wowed the massed crowd of people (complete with a lady with a fluorescence pair of knickers which she proceeded to wave!) with a whole medley of songs for 1 ¾ hours … not bad for a 75 year old guy!! It’s obviously not unusual for him to be behaving like this!!

Great night had by all!!
