Growing old disgracefully

By GOD

OUR WELCOMING COMMITTEE

The rain was teeming down when we arrived, but the reception committee were out to greet us all the same!
Staying at the Cornmill in Herefordshire, where Lesley runs a warm and friendly farm stay and Mark runs a hop and cider farm. Their ten year old son hand feeds the orphan lambs. Knowing nothing about hops and cider, I was fascinated by the cultivation. Cold damp evening, so it was great to cosy up with our Kentish pals, get the wood burning stove going, pour the G and Ts for the more alcoholic members of the party (I get tiddly on a glass of water with a slice of lemon so no-one wasts money on booze for me) and catch up on the last year.

THREE GOOD THINGS
Meeting up with old friends
Lesley's homemade choc and lemon cookies
Time to get started on reading Bring up the Bodies - I have been saving it up for weeks
