On the hunt for eggs

T, N and I joined our friends and their family for a barbeque today.  Their daughter M, my goddaughter, was down from Bristol and her sister C and her daughter O are over for the peak summer period from Dubai - her husband is still there at work.   C was saying the temperatures reached 50 degrees this summer which really was too hot and that 40 degrees is now just about OK!!  They really enjoy the summer weather here as O is able to play outside and get lots of fresh air.  Everywhere is air-conditioned in the Emirates.  O has grown up there so is well accustomed to that way of life.  She starts school in September and they were on the look out for black shoes (part of the uniform and which she is now showing off!), her feet are small for her age and she has grown out of the baby style of footwear so the appropriate shoes were difficult to find in their shops.

The calf born backwards yesterday is doing well although its back legs are weak after having been pulled out, so they tubed her this morning and by this evening it was up and had sucked from its mother.
