Playing hard to get

This painted lady butterfly resolutely refused to open its wings for more than a couple of seconds - good thing the undersides are so beautiful. Whilst trying to work out whether this was indeed a lady or a lady boy (I'm still none the wiser) I came across an interesting factoid which suggests that this is the only species of butterfly ever recorded in the wild in Iceland - well I thought it was interesting considering the species breeds and mostly lives in Africa!
