Holly Blue
We had a work party at the nature reserve today - got lots done in glorious weather and had plenty of butterfly sightings, including Holly Blue and Small Copper, which is great as there have been concerns about low numbers this year. When I got home, my wife and I were chatting over a cup of tea when I noticed a Holly Blue flying around the trees and shrubs in the garden. Despite being in the middle of quite an important conversation, I had to leap up and grab my camera and mumble apologies. I got to where it was perched just in time to take a couple of shots before it was in the air again, exploring our neighbour's garden. I did go back to the conversation!
