The Coach Road

This footpath runs between Betchworth Park Golf Club and the village of Brockham and it is called The Coach Road. It is the ancient route between Dorking and Betchworth but has long since been by-passed. The exception is the night of the Brockham Bonfire when folk walk out of Dorking through to Brockham and flickering torchlight shows the way.
I took Normous down to the Golf Club this morning for his Sunday morning bridge session, then went back later to join him and friends for lunch. There is a very good caterer at the golf club so we dined well.
