Beer festival

Went to the Worcester beer and cider festival on the train.

The cider section was super busy most of the time with about twice as many people queuing for drinks as compared to the beer section, quite a lot of beer and cider had run out to the extent that there was no point planning what to have next beforehand. It was a superb sunny day and thankfully my brother in law brought some sunscreen. Live music was mixed but some good acts and managed to get a much sought after table and bench outside.

A server at the festival told me he was very surprised when women ask for dry cider as it is not usual for a woman's taste. Nothing like a good old stereotype I thought. I explained to him that I don't like sweet wine. First time I have been to a beer festival and not had beer at all, not even a taste. Sign of the times :-)

After the festival we walked to the Cathedral as I hadn't been there. It had just shut but managed to have a walk around the super grounds and the sun was still very bright and warm. This is my brother in law feeding the swans. I have an issue with swans but these ones seemed friendly enough and I stayed at the top of the steps. Went to the King Charles II pub to have pie, mash, gravy and minted mushy peas. Really great food. The pub building was old and had lots of dark wooden panels and an amazing wooden fireplace mantelpiece. King Charles apparently hid here before he met his demise. Got back home had a soft drink to rehydrate and then walked the 50 minutes home :-)
