Faites Vos Jeux
There wasn't actually any betting in the first World Tops for Tots Olympics at the combined NCWA/NWW* annual picnic this afternoon, but the competitors and spectators were having a lot of fun.
In one of the events, contestants had to turn their tops on a lathe in three minutes or less. Scoring was based on a combination of turning time (shorter = better) and spinning duration (longer = better).
There was a serious purpose behind all the fun and games. Contestants were requested to donate a top for each top entered into competition. Donated tops will be added to the Tops for Tots collection, which will be given to the US Marines Toy Drive at Christmastime.
