Pittenweem Arts Festival- Alison Kinnaird
It was worth the two-hour trek to Pittenweem Arts Festival today on the Fife coast just to see the work of invited international glass artist Alison Kinnaird.
A modest unassuming woman with dual careers as a glass artist and harpist she has an MBE for her services to the art world.
Her work combines the traditional art of glass engraving with modern technology to create a whole new way of looking at glass.
Meanwhile the Festival, now in its 33rd year, is always a joy to visit for the sheer diversity of artists present and the stunning location of this fishing village. It is indeed, a “day out” with something for everyone and on a glorious sunny day like today who would want anything better.
In extra photos I have put a picture of one of the fishing boars in the harbour. For this is a busy fishing harbour which for ten days of the year turns into an international arts venue.
