We had a busy morning doing nothing, managed to skip lunch and at 1:30 ended up at the Captain's Club Party.

They have gone upmarket! Before we used to struggle to get a drink, this time they were handing out champagne like it was going out of fashion. "One for him, one for her and a spare" is how we ended up with 3 glasses of bubbly at a time on the table, thanks to an overly generous waiter.

The hors d'ouevres were better too. Out with the breaded deep fried stuff and the quiche, in with "Modern Luxury". Round one was proscuitto and melon, shrimp cocktail and chicken curry tart. Round two was chicken satay, beef and vegetable kebabs and "potato". The potato thing I think was a throwback to the old days - mashed potato breaded and deep fried!

Then came dessert... They said it was chocolate mousse but it looked like a chocolate to me, and turned out to be a chocolate truffle with a hint of raspberry in the middle. It was divine. I would love one of those on my pillow tonight :)
