1500m

This isn't a picture of Joe's race (I was shaking too much for that!) but in lane 0 is Joe warming up before his 1500m.

The day started with a leisurely breakfast of hash browns, baked beans and chocolate chip muffins courtesy of Premier Inn. Then the rest of the morning was spent at the pool watching Immi and Lilly racing their 50backs - both qualifying for the finals and swimming PBs!

The next session was dedicated to 1500s; Joe being in heat 4. As the first 15 year olds raced in the heat before his mum and I were getting anxious... So when Joe swam we had an overwhelming sense of nerves taking over. Mum's legs and my hands shaking madly, but both managing to scream at the top of our voices and 'woo' when Joe's friend's tweet was read out.

He finished his race in a massive 11 second PB of 17:03.18, placing him 5th overall in his age group. It really was a phenomenal swim and I couldn't be prouder of my little brother.

The day finished by watching Immi and Lilly's finals. Imogen winning gold and breaking the Kent Junior Record and Lilly coming 8th with another PB.

Then off to Pizza Express for a lovely meal. Finishing off at the hotel with a bit of reading.

It's been a brilliant weekend so far!
