Pigeon in residence

This is Charllie - or at least that's the name I have given him or her.
Charlie has been in our garden over 24 hours now. He/she is u injured and can fly and has been eating seeds. We have about 10 or so pigeons who regularly visit our garden and he does not appear to be with them. When they fly off he stays. He seems quite tame. He has let me get within a metre before moving off. At first I thought he was just a youngster. Now I am wondering if he is a racing pigeon having a pit stop. Anyone any advice?
